New year new song! A lot of firsts with this one. It's a song I wrote for a movie and the movie didn't happen. It's about a criminal with a struggle of conscious (devil on his shoulders bouncing between good and evil with the vocals). This is best listened to with headphones but you'll get the idea with your speakers or in the car too. It's a darker than normal song. I was approached to make it like a Johnny Cash "Hurt" vibe which I tried to do with this track. I was never approached to write a song for a move before this (usually I get it from my songs that have already been released). It was a fun challenge and took about 5 years to complete on and off: Key changes, lost files (had to re do it all) and a forgotten about track in my hard drive. I almost gave up on this track until I had to re do it. Then I found inspiration.

To celebrate my 20th year as Ken Macy Music I wanted to do something different with this track. I recorded, wrote, mixed and mastered it all myself in my Swampy Gator Studio in FL. I've never done that before and I was scared to do it but I was really pleased with the overall results. It's something I've always wanted to do. Who knows? Maybe it'll be used for another movie?
